Adopt-a-Turtle
By adopting a sea turtle, you help support the care and feeding of Gumbo Limbo's resident sea turtles, continued conservation and protection efforts on our beaches and the on-going research to insure that these captivating creatures continue to populate the oceans. All adopted animals remain in the care and custody of Gumbo Limbo, and no ownership rights are granted through adoption. Our loggerhead sea turtles are released near the Sebastian Inlet when they reach 46 cm (18 inches) long.

Wiggie (Kemp's Ridley) 60 to 70 years old (captured as an adult in 1971 so minimum age is 50, presumed birth date around 1960)

FeeBee (Loggerhead)
FeeBee (Loggerhead) hatched July 2002, in Spanish River Park in Boca Raton, Florida.
Her nest was washed over by storms for 14 days, only 16 eggs hatched; FeeBee is the sole survivor as her nest-mates died of pneumonia. When the nest hatched, 9 hatchlings were stolen from the nest. Released November 6, 2008
Before FeeBee's release a satellite tracking tag was attached to her carapace. You can follow her progress at www.seaturtle.org. New and valuable data are collected as each day passes. FeeBee is still available for adoption. By adopting her you support sea turtle conservation and research and become part of this historic occasion.

Milton (Loggerhead)
Milton (Loggerhead) hatched July 2002, south of the South Beach Pavilion, Boca Raton, Florida.
His nest had 97 out of 102 eggs hatch. Released November 6, 2008 Before Milton's release a satellite tracking tag was attached to his carapace. You can follow his progress at www.seaturtle.org. New and valuable data are collected as each day passes. Milton is still available for adoption.
