FAU shark researcher works to debunk myths, study evolution

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Turns out, the color of blood doesn’t get much reaction from sharks. It’s the scent that attracts them.

“These ideas are repeated over and over,” said Stephen Kajiura, who began Florida Atlantic University’s shark program at Gumbo Limbo Environmental Complex in Boca Raton three years ago to debunk common myths and study shark evolution.
